The City of Los Angeles has adopted Temporary Emergency Regulations during the local emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Temporary Emergency Regulations affect approved Conditional Use Permits and certain automobile parking requirements. In summary the Temporary Emergency Regulations affect the following:
1. Extension of time limits for approved conditional use permits.
2. Parking relief for change of use up to 5000 square feet within an existing building, additions within the existing walls and roof, outdoor dining areas, and offsite parking. For example, a 2000 s.f. change of use from business to retail or restaurant will not require additional parking or adding a mezzanine within an existing commercial space will not require additional parking. The parking relief does not expire with the termination of the local emergency.
